Curriculum „Automotive Systems Engineering“


Course work

The course work is divided into two sections (Compulsory and Elective Courses). All subjects of the “Compulsory Courses” section must be covered.
A total amount of 18 hours of the per week (during lecture period) must be covered from subjects of the ”Elective Courses” section. This total amount includes lectures and exercises. Depending on the volume of the selected subjects in the “Elective Course” section, 5 subjects must be chosen. The selection of these subjects may be discussed with the programme coordinator at ika.


Further works

In addition to the course work, each student must complete the following:
1 Mini thesis, comprising of 260 hours work, will be done parallel to the course work or during the vacation period.
2 A nine weeks long industrial internship to be done during the vacation period.
3 A German language course of about 300 hours which can be credited as non-technical subject


Master thesis

After having finished all required course work, the mini-thesis and the industrial related project, the master thesis can be started in the 4th term. It is a project in the field of Automotive Engineering. The master thesis must be completed within 4 months.
