The debate about the transition from nuclear and fossil energy to renewable energy is taking place in the broader
public and also receives prominent attention by policymakers in terms of government-funded action and strategic
planning.
20 years ago, hybrid drivetrains were only a marginal field of research with a focus on general feasibility. Now nearly
every major car manufacturer is developing vehicles with either hybrid or electric drivetrains for mass production
application. Since 40 years ika has been part of this process and organises the symposium “Tag des Hybrids” since
seven years in order to give experts a forum to exchange experiences and ideas. Due to the highly increased interest
in these topics we will for the first time host the event for two consecutive days in 2012 and expand the topics to include electromobility. There will also be simultaneous translation to English for all our international guests.
We are looking forward to welcoming you to our symposium on Hybrid and Electric Drivetrains on 22th -23rd May 2012 in Aachen.
