Analysis of motor vehicle accidents provides a direct insight into the causes of accidents. A detailed understanding of the pre-crash phase and accident causation is the basis for development of both active and passive safety measures. By means of simulations, the impact of accident countermeasures can be assessed based on real-world accident data. In detail, the lecture deals with the following topics: Accident research, traffic law, accident types, accident documentation, reconstruction methods, kinematic calculation, kinetic calculation, avoidability, biomechanics, basics of cognitive psychology, computer-based accident analysis.
Lecture dates can be found in the Campus system.
Practice lessons will be held as a block seminar.
