Programme Review 2009 [icon name="icon-arrow-circle-right"][/icon] Outlook 2013
Hybrid and electric drivetrains are more relevant than ever. Almost every major car manufacturer now offers models with respective drivetrains in series and is working on future concepts. The continuing high level of interest from manufacturers, suppliers and research institutes in this topic prompted the Institut für Kraftfahrzeuge this year to schedule its established conference on alternative drivetrains for two days.
More than 100 experts met on 22nd and 23rd May 2012 in Aachen and discussed the various challenges of innovative propulsion concepts. In particular the conference focused on current and future developments in the fields of drivetrain architecture and power management as well as on the complex issues relating to energy conversion and storage. A total of 20 speakers from industry and research described in their presentations, how the trade-offs between efficiency, safety and driving experience can be resolved.
