Programmeflyer  Review 2008  Outlook 2010

On September 22nd and 23rd the “Aachen Body Engineering Days 2009” took place at the Institut für Kraftfahrzeuge (ika) of the RWTH Aachen University.

Approximately 200 participants were enthusiastic about the concept of the international conference that provided a broad vision of current and future developments in the field of automotive body engineering.

Lecturers were renowned speakers from industry and research. Among others, Prof. Dr. Rudolph C. Stauber (Head of Departments Durability and Materials, BMW AG), Dr. Matthias Rabe (Head of body development Volkswagen AG) und Dr. Ulrich Eichhorn (Member of the Board Engineering - Bentley Motors Ltd.).

In addition to general trends in body engineering and new vehicle concepts, current bodies of BMW 5 series GT, Porsche Panamera, VW Polo, Opel Insignia Sportstourer, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG and Artega GT were presented. The cars and car bodies were on display in the accompanying technical exhibition together with the demonstration model of the SuperLightCar. A special highlight was the TechTruck of ThyssenKrupp AG in which the results of the InCar project were presented to the public for the very first time.

The date for the Aachen Body Engineering Days 2010 is already set: 21st and 22nd September 2010.
