Collective intelligence for future mobility applications
Topic and Goal of the Thesis
Highly automated vehicles are nowadays rarely autonomous, but communicate with each other via the cloud. Together, they contribute to a digital twin of the entire traffic system, which provides valuable information for many users. To ensure that it can do this as efficiently as possible, its calculation is ideally distributed across several edge servers, each of which is responsible for a defined cell. The aim of this work is to develop an algorithm that optimally divides a defined area into such cells based on publicly accessible map data.
Working Points
- Literature research on algorithms for dividing an area into cells
- Implementation of such an algorithm
- Application on multiple areas, especially Aachen, and evaluation
Requirements
- Good English or German language skills
- Passion for automated driving
- Experience with python is an advantage
