Much to Learn, You Have

Our Meetup series for interested parties presents and discusses current, practice-relevant research topics in the field of automated driving.

How Deep Learning enables the environment perception of self-driving cars

Dr. Marius Cordts (Daimler AG)

Semantic scene understanding is of great importance for the environment detection of automated vehicles. The automated vehicle must be able to perceive and understand its environment. Marius Cordts explains the use of deep neural networks for the efficient semantic understanding of urban scenes for automated driving. He will elaborate on the relevance of different input modalities such as depth, movement or object detection for semantic scene understanding.
