innocam.NRW
Connecting and building competences in North Rhine-Westphalia and beyond
Ensuring individual, intelligent, environmentally friendly, and integrated mobility is one of the greatest social challenges of our time. Automation and connectivity offer great potential for improving mobility services and making transport cleaner, safer, and more efficient. Digitalization in particular will make access to and use of mobility significantly easier for people and goods. However, the research, development, and implementation of new mobility services and automated vehicles often require complex interaction between many parties.
innocam.NRW is the competence network for automated and connected mobility in North Rhine-Westphalia and beyond. The competence network is the central and neutral point of contact for all players in the mobility industry, science, administration, especially for local authorities, and various social groups.
On the road to automated mobility, innocam.NRW supports the development, testing, and deployment of vehicles with various levels of automation – from coping with specific driving situations to fully automated vehicles. Findings gained for one mode of transport are to be examined for possible transferability to another mode of transport. Automated modes of transport in particular benefit from the exchange of information with intelligent transport infrastructure and other connected vehicles. This shared information provides a more comprehensive view of traffic situations and forms the basis for safer and more efficient traffic management.
The goal of innocam.NRW is to strengthen cross-modal and interdisciplinary cooperation for the development of smart specialization competencies. Our activities support innovation capacities and the development of advanced technologies for the future transport of people and goods.
