Do radars see what they ought to see?

Our Meetup series for interested parties presents and discusses current, practice-relevant research topics in the field of future mobility.

Highly automated driving requires that radar sensors in the vehicle permanently provide highly reliable and precise information about the vehicle's surroundings. Automotive suppliers and manufacturers are therefore already testing their function on a large scale, for example as part of test drives. But, according to current estimates, more than 10 million km will have to be covered for each sensor model. Are test drives still a feasible way of testing?

Thomas Dallmann will explain how radars are currently being tested and which approaches currently under development could make it possible to solve this problem in the future.
