Automotive Engineering III –

The lecture Automotive Engineering 3 highlights various aspects of vehicle safety. Systems are presented that support the driver in guiding the vehicle, active systems that intervene in the guidance of the vehicle, up to post-crash systems. In particular, the technical principles and development methods for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and vehicle dynamics control systems are discussed.

Learning Outcomes

  • Students gain practical experience in the field of control engineering using the example of the driver-vehicle-environment control loop.
  • Students learn methods for the evaluation and development of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
  • The students understand the basics of automated vehicle guidance and can classify vehicle systems into automation levels.
